Phil Watson

Phil Watson is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lightbox Wealth, an investment lab for Family Offices and Wealth Fiduciaries. He brings more than 25 years of experience across wealth management, investments and technology.

 

Before founding Lightbox Wealth, Phil spent over two decades at Citi, where he was Managing Director, in senior leadership roles spanning investment management, technology and innovation. Phil is a recognised Senior Leader and visionary in the wealth management space. He is recognised for pioneering the Global Investment Lab, an institutional-grade investment analytics capability built for ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices worldwide, bringing together portfolio analytics, investment strategy, risk, data and technology to support better-informed decisions.

 

Phil was named a Global Digital Leader by the Financial Times' Professional Wealth Management for his contribution to innovation in wealth management. He is an early adopter of emerging technology and its practical application to investment management and client experience.

 

Post his tenure at Citi, Phil also served as a Chief Investment Officer to a family office, giving him a practitioner's view of the governance, investment and technology challenges sophisticated wealth owners face.

 

Phil has considerable knowledge and interest in AI and contributes regularly to industry discussion on AI and the future of wealth technology. He has been a Senior Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence with CFTE.
